BEAMAN ARCHITECTURE, LTD. is a full-service architecture firm distinguished in the programming, planning and design of justice facilities with an emphasis in environments for youth. We are guided by a philosophy and design methodology which integrates planning and architecture with criminal justice concepts, pro-social interactions, activities and behaviors.  Beaman Architecture Ltd. is qualified to address current realities of design and construction in regards to reformation and public safety.  We have had the privilege over the years of designing meaningful and tailored environments for a variety of clients in the Pacific Northwest, the western United States and Washington DC.

The office was established in 1995 by Laura and Michael Beaman.  Beaman Architecture Ltd. is headquartered in Portland, Oregon.

Michael L. Beaman
NCARB, RA, President

Mr. Beaman has over 37 years experience in the management and technical development of complex facilities for both public and private sector clients.  Practicing his art across a diverse spectrum of building types with an emphasis on justice and youth environments, his work is marked by attention to detail and documentation necessary to meet and exceed the quality expectations of his clients.

Michael is a licensed Architect in 8 states as well as NCARB certified.  He has a bachelor and masters in Architecture from Montana State University and oversees ML Beaman, an art studio.

Laura J. Beaman
Interior Designer, Principal Owner

Ms. Beaman has over 32 years experience in the interior planning and design of institutional, high-tech, medical, corporate and retail spaces.  She is sensitive to the critical balance between client needs, design aesthetics, budget limitations and code regulations.  Laura is involved in all phases of project development, from design through construction administration.  She creates synergism on her projects by providing guidance to the project members (client, contractor, consultants and municipal authorities) and encouraging their individual contributions.

Laura is a NCIDQ certified interior designer and holds a BA in Interior Design from Brigham Young University.
